We're in this together....

That's what Brian tells me as I am suffering from horrible morning sickness. Why can't he have half of my pregnancy symptoms then? In his defense, Brian has taken on the new duty of cleaning Gracie's litter box. Brian's first attempt at cleaning the litter box was an experience I wish I had on video tape. He went in her room with a red t-shirt wrapped around his nose, and ready to do the "simple" task of scooping and throwing away. I realized pretty quickly that this wouldn't be a simple task for him. About two seconds later, he exited the room gagging. This repeated about 5 times before he was able to get the job done. I guess this is his version of morning sickness, although I would gladly trade him.

On another note, we are going to Las Vegas for a wedding this Thursday. Hopefully Brian will get leave approved and he will be able to join me. I guess I won't get that sushi that I have been dreaming about now that I'm pregnant. Oh the sacrifices.. I am really excited to get out of Clovis for a little bit. I hope I'm feeling well enough to enjoy it.

Fresh Seafood in Clovis.....

I don't know if you'd call it a pregnancy craving or not, but I made Brian pick us up 2 lbs of crab legs from the local Albertsons and let me tell you they were delicious!!!! I didn't think we'd find good seafood here, but I have to say I was very impressed.

On another note, I am definitely noticing a more keen sense of smell. Although, I've always had a pretty sensitive nose. Today in church, I nearly gagged at the smell of old people and their cologne. I just hope that none of my little kids at the pre-school have an accident. I don't think I'd be able to stomach that now.

Something to Blog About

We are expecting our first child in early October!!!! I am pregnant! Maybe now I'll be better with this blog thing:) On Tuesday, I have an appointment, so hopefully I'll learn more. They gave me a tentative due date of October 1st. We are thrilled for our little one, and praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby. If you think of us, keep our little jelly bean in your prayers. It is still very early. We are about six weeks along right now. So far, my main symtom is exhaustion! I am tired all the time. No morning sickness yet, but I hear it's still early for that; fingerscrossed I'll be spared.

Ok, time for bed. 9:00 is way passed my bedtime these days.

73rd SOS Christmas Party

On Friday we had Brian's squadron Christmas party. As you can see above it was a lot of fun. It included a liquored up Santa thanks to an open bar and good times with the wonderful people in his squadron.

Thankfully, I am feeling better after having the stomach flu. I am pretty sure I will never get a flu shot again. This is the first year I have had the shot and I have already had the flu twice this year. Well, twice in the last month. Anyway, I was well enough to enjoy the Christmas party. Unfortunately, on Monday I had to skip out on my work party. I tried to make it, but the nasty flu hit me pretty quickly.

On a different note, Brian is smoking a brisket tonight. Yummy!!! Hopefully it turns out as well as the turkey did minus the fire.

Thanksgiving Fun

I know this is a little late, but I'll try to be better with this blogging thing.

On the week of Thanksgiving we were blessed with a visit from Brian's parents. It was a really special week. We spent the time relaxing, having delicious food, and wonderful company. Brian and his dad smoked the turkey and it was amazing. They didn't set the house on fire so I call it a success, although Rob almost set himself on fire. Too much lighter fluid and then lighting a match was probably not a winning combination. Anyway, nobody was hurt and we have a burnt patch on the grass to remind us of our first Thanksgiving in our home. We were really sad to see them go. I especially miss having a sparkling clean kitchen (thanks Janice) and their company. Luckily, Christmas is around the corner and we cannot wait to go home and see all of the family.

Our first Blog

In the last 2 years Brian and I have lived in California, Arizona, Florida, Texas, Arkansas, and New Mexico all thanks to the United States Air Force. A year after graduating from college, I married my highschool sweetheart and bestfriend. After a blissful week in Jamaica, we started our life together. I followed him around while he attended pilot training all over the United States. We have met some of our best friends through the military, and now we have finally settled down in Clovis, NM at Cannon AFB. We have two little ones, a dog Kasey and a cat Gracie. They complete our happy family.

I'm new to blogging so I'm guessing this will be a work-in-progress for awhile.
