Summer Fun

Here are some pictures of our new patio and Kasey, Laura, and I playing in the little kiddie pool we set up in our backyard to cool off. Brian is the photographer, so unfortunately he isn't in any of them. I'll try to get him in some pictures soon. I am 22 and a half weeks pregnant and my stomach is getting bigger every day. I am also retaining water because my hands and feet are very swollen. We have been enjoying my dad's visit and Laura's summer visit here.

Half Way Done!!!

On Thursday, I made it to the 20 week mark. We are half way done with this pregnancy:) Here are some pics of my growing belly.

It's a boy!!!

We just had our 20 week ultrasound and found out we're having a baby boy. We are thrilled. Our little guy is thriving. His brain, heart, kidneys, and measurements are all perfect. Everything is working and he was measuring 20 weeks 1 day so that is perfect. I am 19 weeks 5 days today, so just a little ahead. They did the 3-d ultrasound which is really cool. Baby Woolley would not turn his head to face us, so we could only get his side face profile. I think he's adorable. Here are some pics from the ultrasound. Guess we need to start thinking of boy names now.

Paradise in Florida

Brian had a TDY this week to Hurlburt and I decided to tag along. How could I pass up a practically free trip to the beautiful white sand beaches of FL? I used all my personal leave from work and found myself a plane ticket returning just a day before Brian. The weather was gorgeous at 78 degrees with a light breeze. The hotel that the govt put Brian in was fabulous. The holiday inn upgraded us to full ocean view 2 pools, a hot tub, and lounge chair beach service every day. Brian spent his days in a simulator while I walked the beach, read a few books by the pool, worked on my tan, and gained a few pounds from the delicious food. Brian usually got back to the room by 4:30 so we spent a couple of hours together walking the beach or laying by the pool before our dinner dates. It was hard to watch Brian enjoy all the oysters by himself, but I was happy atleast one of us got to enjoy them. On Friday, I had to return to work to Fun Friday and it was pretty much like a carnival for the little ones. They had horsey rides, tractor rides, a bouncy house, a petting zoo, and much much more. Needless to say, after a week at the beach, all the traveling, and a long day working outside, I am exhausted. Here are some pictures from our trip.

15 weeks Along!

We had our second prenatal appointment on Tuesday where we got to hear the heartbeat. It's so amazing that there's a little heart beating in there. Our little "pumpkin" due October 8th, had a strong heartbeat of 150. The doctor said all my bloodwork from the last visit was great and that I have a low-risk pregnancy. I feel pretty good. I'm still quite exhausted, but not much to complain about. I'm definitely getting bigger and showing. Only 5 more weeks until school is done and I can relax during a much needed summer break. Or just our back window. Brian had a flight scheduled for Tuesday night, so I was home alone. The neighborhood kid just got a present: A BB Gun. He thought it would be good to practice shooting in our backyard. Around 7pm, I heard a loud noise and went into the backyard to see what happened. Well, I could see our neighbor pointing a bb gun straight into our yard. Poor little Gracie's tail was puffed up because she almost took a bb. The kid saw me looking at him, lowered his weapon and then went inside like nothing happened. Being home alone, I didn't want to go confront him by myself, so I thought about calling the cops. Another neighbor suggested waiting until Brian got home and talking to his parents. So that is what I did. The next morning we noticed that the boy had fired multiple shots, because he got our window. Brian was able to get everything taken care of when he talked to the boy's mom. He had just saved up his money to get a bb gun, but said it wasn't him. He thinks it was his brother. Well, I don't think that kid will be using the gun anytime soon. His mom was pretty upset with him. They are going to pay for the broken window once we get an estimate. I'm glad I didn't end up going to the cops, because that poor woman has her hands full.

Spring Break in Santa Fe

A couple weeks ago, Brian's dad joined us for Spring Break. He drove all the way from Clovis to Clovis to come visit. He got into town just before a big snow storm hit us. We drove out on Friday to spend a couple nights in Santa Fe in the downtown area. Thanks to Rob, we stayed at a beautiful 4 star hotel right in the middle of the Plaza. We had a great time looking at all the cool art that we couldn't afford, eating the most wonderful food that we can't find in Clovis, and spending quality time with Brian's dad. It was a little chilly at first because of the cold front, but it did not stop us from having a great time. We even made it to Trader Joes and picked up tons of wine (I guess we'll need to save it for a few more months) and some awesome food that we kept on ice. Saturday night we went to a Tapas Bar, no not a topless bar:) They had this cool jazz band playing and we ate Tapas which were delicious spanish appetizers. Rob also picked out this fabulous breakfast place he had seen on the food network called Harry's Roadhouse. It was this diner that apparently Gene Hackman frequents and I can see why. Oh man, the food was sooo good. I would consider getting up at 5am just to get there for breakfast and drive back to Clovis. We liked it so much we went there twice. On Sunday, we dropped Rob off at the train station, but not before we had lunch at a Brazilian all you can eat bbq called Tucanos. It was sad to say goodbye, but also great to get back to our little guy Kasey and our little girl, Gracie. I'm pretty sure Brian's dad gets voted best house guest. He has already made his way out to Clovis 3 times to see us. We're not in the most desirable part of the United States, but that doesn't stop him from visiting:) Overall, it was a great spring break. Santa Fe was a really cool place. I loved looking at all the neat art and pottery stuff. Hopefully we'll get to visit again soon. Anyone interested?
